RASPUTIN Update 1 – The Beginning

It’s day 1 of RASPUTIN and I’m excited! I made the inaugural run this morning. Here is a photo of me being excited on the run.

Ok fine here’s an actual photo.

I want to try and start with areas far away from Trinity College because I’m definitely going to be running the roads around here many many times over the next few months (hopefully this only takes a few months). Yesterday, I thought: What better place to start than in the top left? so that’s what I did. Today I completed the Dr. Eric Jackman Institute of Child Study (didn’t even know that place existed), UTS, 720 Spadina Ave, and the Jackman Humanities Building. (Wow I visited 2 places with Jackman in the name, I didn’t notice until now.)

Based on the map, I thought that 720 Spadina Ave would be an empty block of pavement, but it turns out they’re constructing a student residence over there, and there seemed to be quite a lot of fence in the way of my planned route.

So I just ran around it. The Child Study place had some no trespassing signs, but there weren’t any problems with the the other two buildings. Once I got back I looked at the map and it turns out that all the houses south of UTS are part of U of T as well! This place is bigger than I thought.

Today’s Run

On the image of today’s run, the bundle of red in the top left is the Child Study Intitute, the large loop on the left is the detour around the construction, the loop just to the right of that is UTS, and the bottom right is the start/end point. The GPS is not entirely accurate, as I didn’t run right over the top of UTS as it claims.

In case I have not provided sufficent evidence of my performance of the claimed run, here are more pictures of the places I visited.
